Our child safety standards

This document sets out İz's standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE): how to report it, what we do when a report reaches us, and what we pass on to whom. It is public and it applies to all of İz.

Prohibited

Child sexual abuse and exploitation is prohibited on İz in every form. There is no exception, and the prohibition covers all of the following:

• Child sexual abuse material (CSAM): any visual depiction of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct — photographs, video, drawings and computer-generated imagery alike.
• Grooming a child for sexual exploitation, sextorting a child, or steering a child toward a sexual encounter.
• Child trafficking, or facilitating the sexual exploitation of a child.
• A handle, display name, bio, ride title or ride note that sexualises children.
• Sharing links, codes or hints that lead to such material.

The prohibition holds regardless of the account holder's age and regardless of which İz surface the content appears on. A breach closes the account; there is no warning stage.

How to report

You do not have to leave the app. There are two places to start, and both open the same list:

   For a rider profile: the ⋮ menu at the top right of the profile, then Report.

2. 02

   For a published ride: the Report this ride row on the ride page.

   The first row in the list is Child safety — a child is at risk. Choose it, and add a short note about what you saw if you want to.

Child safety is the one reason exempt from the daily reporting limit: having already filed other reports that day will not block this one.

When a report reaches us

• The report enters the moderation queue and is reviewed by a person. Child safety reports are moved to the front of that queue.
• If the content is confirmed, it is removed from view and the account is suspended or permanently banned.
• The decision is written to a decision log that cannot be rewritten.
• Confirmed child sexual abuse material is reported to the channels below.

To be plain about it: İz runs no automated imagery scanning. The only image held on the server is the profile photo, and reports are how we find this material. That is precisely why the path to report it is as short as it is.

Reporting to the authorities

We report confirmed child sexual abuse material to:

• İhbar Web

  Türkiye's official internet reporting centre. It has a dedicated child sexual abuse category and is Türkiye's INHOPE member hotline.

• Turkish National Police — Cybercrime Directorate

  The law-enforcement channel. We also file a criminal complaint with the Public Prosecutor.

• NCMEC CyberTipline

  The international reporting line. For a Türkiye-based provider this is voluntary; we report voluntarily.

Where a court, a public prosecutor or a competent authority requests them, we hand over the records we hold in accordance with applicable law.

Everything that can be shared on İz

So there is no doubt about where these standards apply, this is the complete list of user content held on our servers:

• A handle, a display name and a short bio
• One profile photo — the only user-supplied image İz hosts
• The title, the note and the route line of a published ride

İz has no messaging, no comments and no photo sharing. Photos you add to your road journal never leave your phone; they are not uploaded.

The legal framework

• Article 103 of the Turkish Penal Code criminalises the sexual abuse of a child. Article 226(3) separately criminalises producing, possessing and making available to others obscene material in which children are used.
• Article 8 of Law No. 5651 lists this content among the catalogue offences; an order to remove content or block access must be carried out within four hours of notification.
• Article 5 of the same law imposes no duty to monitor content in advance, but does impose a duty to take unlawful content down once notified. İz meets that duty — and makes the reports above because it has committed to, not because the law compels it.
